| Citation text line | 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): When portable ladders are used for access to an upper landing surface, the ladder side rails shall extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder is used to gain access: (a) Tuskegee University Science Building; On or about October 24, 2012 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed his employees to a 14 foot fall while they were ascending/descending a ladder to the next level in that the siderails did not extend 3 feet above the upper level landing surface and there was no grabrail installed. |
