Complaint What Happened I had Direct student loans and had them transfered Navient .Before it was transferred my federal income tax was garnished to pay towards the debt and I never saw anything showing that the money was paid towards my account. No statements did n't show on my credit report either.And It was over {$2000.00} which was taken.

Complaint What Happened I had a personal student loan with Navient that was XXXX by XXXX XXXX bankruptcy in 2019. Navient account number : XXXX The company is trying to act like they are a Department of Education loan, that is not cancelled by XXXX XXXX or any Bankruptcy titles, unless extreme hardship. Under the Brunner Act, any category of student loan can be discharged when extreme hardship can be proven. Also, the XXXX XXXX XXXX has ruled that private student loan can be discharged and do not have the same protection as Federal loans. I have sent the Navient discharge notice, and Notice to creditor of the XXXX hearing held before receiving my discharge. Navient, is still sending payment due date notices and offering Income Driven Payment Plans when the loan is discharged. Feel free to share this with other who may be experiencing similar request for payment well after the loan has been discharged. Thank you for your assistance.

Complaint What Happened I have struggled to make my student loan payments at several times over the life of the loans. When contacting Navient, I have not been given adequate help, but have been met with attitude and incompetence. I have never had a representative go over all the options available to me. Because of this, I have had many years where I was paying money when other options were available. Navient has taken thousands of dollars from me over and above the cost of my original loans, and after all those payments, I still owe {$9000.00} more than the original loan amounts. I paid off a loan yesterday, and my rate increased overnight almost a whole percentage point. However, when I called to speak with a representative, I was told the interest rate was based on the market value, but she could not tell me what the market value was or whether it had increased. However, when the markets tanked several years back, my interest rate was never reduced. I have never received a market reduction, only increases. This seems predatory. Im trying my best, and Navient is also trying their best to make it hard to get out of this debt. Sallie Mae knew what they were doing offering loans to kids who didnt understand what they were signing. They took advantage of kids who wanted to get a degree. Please help me.

Complaint What Happened I am a victim of identity theft. It is sad that these companies can flat out violate the federal law like this. This is a direct violation of 15 USC 1692 ( g ) Validation of Debts. Not only have I not given the credit reporting agencies written consent to furnish my consumer report at no time per 15 USC 1681b. I will be filing with the federal courts about the continuous back and forth with the credit reporting agencies and companies who clearly know that they are in violation of the law. It clearly states that once I notify each credit report agency of my identity theft a removal of the account or information is to be removed. I as the the consumer is also the person to identify this information for validation but not one person has called me to verify not one thing. It has been almost a full year of attempting to get them to correct my credit file. I am no longer waiting and will be taking this to the next level. The Navient account is not mine and needs to be corrected.

Complaint What Happened I 've been following the lawsuit with XXXX. I am a little concerned. I would like my loans through them ( which day closed on my credit ) verified. If they ca n't be verified I would like to have them removed. Also have some federal loans that are reporting " no payment '' and I recently filed bancruptcy and was told that I do n't have to make payments through this process and that they would n't negatively report. However, reporting no payment is adversely affecting my credit. I have been unable to reach live persons who can help me. I get transferred and then for some reason the phone keeps getting disconnected. I just seek answers and they ( loan servicing companies ) should desire to help consumers. Anything you can do to help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Complaint What Happened Navient is using my identity and saying i owe the 15 USC 1692e I never signed a contract in wet ink with them, true holder must provided original instrument if indebtedness in original form, Navient has only produced billing statement, which when original opened in 2006, i was XXXX, 15 usc 1637 states, No credit card may be issued to, or open end consumer credit plan established by or on behalf of, a consumer who has not attained the age of XXXX, deceptive forms ; Navient is saying the are department of Ed, using their name on form when in fact these are 2 different businesses, there is over XXXX in alleged fees/on report over 15 years/7years limit, which hold a negative weight on my debt ratio, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX are updating information without all fact/validity ; i ask that all accounts be removed because alleged contract is cancelled void null, lenders & associates must follow the law ; they have removed some accounts not all ; they are not reporting accurately to all 3 bureaus, because one inaccurate item has caused adverse action and knowingly causing harm to my livelihood, they have been reporting different information on all report i provide documents with total on all, not listing all required informations, i have lost a number of opportunities for growth because these inaccuracy

Complaint What Happened My loans ( Direct subsidized and Direct unsubsidized ) were transferred to XXXX in XX/XX/2018. Since this time NONE of the payments that I made to Navient ( 43 payments ) or Sallie Mae ( 7 payments ) before the transfer have been counted by XXXX. The three attachments show my payments made to Navient and the corresponding missing information in the XXXX online system. Under PSLF and TEPSLF payment counts XXXX shows these dates as you do not have a bill due for this period and counted as ineligible payments. This is not correct. Nearly {$35000.00} in payments that I made toward my PSLF are not in their system. I have made 169 total payments ( out of the required 120 ) and need to have this payment information corrected for PSLF. I have contacted XXXX and Navient multiple times about this with no assistance. I have called and spent hours on the phone to be disconnected. I have filed a complaint with the US Dept Education and received an email on XX/XX/XXXX ( case XXXX ) that I would hear from the case worker in 15 days and that it should be resolved in 30 days. I can not get an update by email or a returned phone call. This needs to be corrected before the {$1000.00} monthly payments resume in XXXX. I have completed al requirements under the revised PSLF guidelines. This information needs to be corrected.

Complaint What Happened I have had issues with Navient ever since I started making payments XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX. Navient constantly harassed my father and I with phone calls whenever I got behind. Navient refused to remove my father as a cosigner after I completed the necessary requirements of XXXX consecutive payments saying my payments were late even though the payments were set up by Navient to automatically draft from my account. I asked Navient on multiple occasions to consolidate my loans and lower my interest rate but they refused. Navient would only offer to put me in an income based repayment plan to lower my payment but all it would do was extend my number of payments. The most frustrating concern was their lack of communication. Every time that I would call to either get clarification on my loans or make a payment, they would not have any records of my previous calls and I would get cold transferred around to multiple agents to the point that I would just make a payment just to be done with it. My biggest complaint is that I was led to believe that, XX/XX/XXXX, I would finally be able to consolidate my loans to a fixed interest rate of 3 % on all my loans for the remainder of my repayment period. I set up another XXXX consecutive payments through Navient to be automatically withdrawn from my bank account. I upheld my responsibility to have each payment clear my account until I received a phone call from my father stating that Navient called and told my father that I was behind on my payments. Upon learning this information, I reached out to Navient to obtain an explanation. They fraudulently changed my interest rates back to their original amounts after I agreed to a verbal contract to pay the 3 % until the end of my repayment period. I refused to pay the higher interest rates. In addition, I requested on numerous occasions to have a physical copy of the recorded telephone call and/or telephone call transcript sent to me. Navient refused to provide that information unless I had legal representation request it. My account became further and further delinquent and finally defaulted about 3 months ago. About a month or so before I defaulted, I obtained legal representation ( around XX/XX/XXXX ) regarding the issue. We attempted to work with Navient to discuss options but to no avail. All that I was trying to accomplish was to get my rates lowered backed down to 3 % to honor our previous verbal contract and continue my repayment payment. Every time my lawyer and I would call in, they had no record of our previous communications. I was left threatening voice messages by Navient during this time. On the last day before my loan defaulted, I tried to call and make a payment to keep that from happening. Navient claimed that the department handling my account closed down at XXXX that day due to it being the last day of the month and the main customer service number refused to take my payment leading to my default. Since defaulting on my loan approximately 3.5 months ago, neither my legal representation nor I have received any communication from the debt collector regarding the default. We have contacted Navient on multiple occasions and they do not even know where my file is and can not give me any information on who to contact to track it down. I am beyond frustrated. I read the article regarding the lawsuit today and did not realize that I had someone who I could complain to. Any help would be much appreciated.

Complaint What Happened My complaint is that Navient Department of Student Loans Servicing are reporting inaccurate balances on my credit report. In XXXX I was attending college using my post XX/XX/XXXX VA benefits, but by error, only 80 % of my tuition was being covered. A reimbursement check was sent to the school on XX/XX/XXXX to cover the remaining 20 % of tuition that was paid by me using student loans and Pell, as I am eligible for 100 % tuition coverage. Right now, I still owe Navient for student loans that were taken out and paid to XXXX XXXX on my behalf, even after the reimbursement by the Department of Veteran Affairs. I have included the ledger card provided by the school showing where the school has been reimbursed to this dispute letter. I was advised by my financial aid advisor to contact Navient student loan servicers and again by Navient to contact XXXX XXXX financial aid advisors. These balances are inaccurate and I am requesting they be removed immediately from my credit report. I have attempted to contact all parties involved but was unable to get my issue resolved. I was only referred back and forth between the college and the loan servicers. I also placed a mail in dispute to XXXX requesting the balances be deleted due to inaccuracies but have not received a response in over 90 days, which is well over the time they have to investigate and provide me with accurate and original copies of proof of balances. I have included all documents showing my efforts to resolve this issue before filing this complaint, to this complaint

Complaint What Happened I have been experiencing a reduction in work hours since the pandemic started. Navient has worked with me up until this time, but now Im receiving conflicting information and issues moving forward. I received and email stating that as of XX/XX/31 short term coronavirus relief was no longer available for private student loans. I went to their website under covid-19 assistance and it states the program is available until at least XXXX with a note that you cant use it for more than 12 months. I called to speak to someone yesterday and they told me I have no other options that to make the repayment because Ive used all other options. The reality is I am still working a reduced number of hours and need assistance in postponing payments. I have been very proactive in reaching out before payments have been due to keep Navient informed about my situation. Unfortunately all of the sudden Im getting conflicting information from their sources and no real help.

My credit was impacted because XXXX is reporting wrong that I am 90 days late yet they are also reporting that I have made 100 percent of my payments. My student loan has been in forbearance and paused due to the Government loan pause on student loans. This inaccurate reporting is negatively impacting my credit profile and financial standing. Complaint What Happened I, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, I have tried to reason with Navient Re :, a private school loan that should have been considered for the original Navient lawsuit. However, my loan was never considered, nor did I ever receive any type of correspondence regarding the same. According to the information notated in the lawsuit, my loan did and still does meet the requirements of the original judgment. The aforementioned private loan is in default and was charged off/closed via Bankruptcy Court in XXXX. Yet, the loan continues to be updated on my credit report every month as if it is a current loan that is in collections. This prevents me from being considered for housing due to ongoing negative activity. It continues to update my credit report each month. I attempted to reach the credit department for Navient to seek assistance with my credit report without success. I never heard from them. I have recently been corresponding with a XXXX XXXX via email and phone conversation to date. I was informed by XXXX XXXX that my XXXX score was too high at the time of the loan. How is that? My XXXX XXXX was not in good standing, much less having a decent XXXX XXXX. However, she did not come up with a solution for my issue. I also mentioned to her that I had applied for consideration for XXXX, and that was rejected as well. She informed me that I had applied with the wrong website and that she was sending me the correct information which I never received or it was never sent. Complaint What Happened My daughter took out private loans from Navient XXXX. After struggling to pay even the principal, her loans ( XXXX ) add up to over XXXX with the interest to date. My daughter has filed bankruptcy 2 times but still the interest rate accumulated is a staggering amount. I am consignor of XXXX of the original loans amount of approx XXXX XXXXXXXX, now is up over XXXX XXXXXXXX! She is unable to pay so they are coming after me. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and live on social security. Please advise on how and what I can do. This type of loan pirates should be illegal. My daughter will never be able to buy a house, car in her life time because of this. Im saddened to know that I helped her accumulate these loans. I didnt know the difference between private and government loans. I have failed in my attempt to help my daughter to success.

Complaint What Happened I received a private student loan from Navient in 2007. I took out this loan for a for-profit college that has closed due to unjust practices, misconduct, and lies pertaining to students future. Also, the amount has more than doubled of what I borrowed and I have paid on it at least five years.

Complaint What Happened Hi to whom in concern, I have received late payments from Navient for XX/XX/XXXX, and I am devastated. I never received any notifications or anything indicating that I was responsible for a payment due to the nationwide deferment of student loans. According to Navient 's website, " Federal student loan flexibilities for the COVID-19 emergency have been extended at least through XX/XX/XXXX ''. So how was I 90 days late for a payment that was not even due? It has destroyed my credit score. Im currently in an income based payment plan as of XXXX. It wasn't brought into my attention that I was late until XXXX. I do not understand. My payment were held off due to the pandemic, yet I have received penalties. How could I be punished at such a time like it is with everything going on with this horrible virus, and this pandemic that has effected millions. Again, I am completely shattered. Please fix this situation! Thank you for your time on this matter.
