29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about August 31, 2017, at 7790 Schillinger Rd, Mobile, Al: the employer failed to ensure an employee working from an aerial lift (JLG 400S) resting on the roof connected his harness and lanyard to the roof anchor when he got out of the basket to measure a corner rafter piece, which exposed him to fall hazards up to 11 feet 9 inches to the ground below. |

Crossbraces were used as a means of access: a) On or about August 31, 2017 at 7790 Schillinger Rd, Mobile, Al: The employer failed to ensure a ladder was used when an employee on the roof climbed down the end brace of a scaffold on the decked platform to check the measurements of the rafter corner piece. |
